Digital expert talk: #GlasfaserMadeInWolfsburg, 13.07.2021
On 13.07.2021, 18:30, our DIGIT member Prof. Dr. Reinhard Gerndt was in expert discussion on the digitalization process of the city of Wolfsburg....
In order to make themselves fit for the future, Volkswagen AG and the city of Wolfsburg have launched the #WolfsburgDigital initiative, with which they are driving forward the digitization of the city. One of the important fields is the topic of infrastructure and fiber optic expansion. The big challenge: The importance of these topics must also be made clear and understandable to the people of the city of Wolfsburg. At the first "hybrid" WAZ expert discussion, we will discuss together, look at the current status and even further ahead.
Our DIGIT member and lecturer in the DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES course, Prof. Dr. Reinhard Gerndt (Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences), spoke on the following topics, among others:
- Are the existing technical possibilities in broadband expansion actually being fully exploited?
- What needs to be improved to make Wolfsburg even more digital?
- What else is important for digitization besides fast Internet connections?
